Brian M. Pierce

Personal Experience

Brian Pierce is a 1991 graduate of the Pennsylvania State University where he received his undergraduate degree in Administration of Justice. Brian received his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Akron School of Law in 1994. Brian was admitted to the Ohio Bar in November of 1994 at which time he entered into private practice.


Brian is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association, Akron Bar Association, Ohio Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. Brian currently serves on the Criminal Law Committee and Grievance Committee which reviews complaints filed with the Akron Bar Association. Brian also served a three-year term on the Akron Bar Association Board of Trustees.


Brian’s areas of practice include Criminal Defense and Juvenile Law. Brian practices in both State and Federal Court and was appointed to the Criminal Justice Panel in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Ohio. Brian has successfully defended Defendant’s in thirteen capital cases over the past twelve years. Brian has won jury acquittals for clients facing charges which include Aggravated Murder, Aggravated Robbery, Rape, Kidnapping, Money Laundering, and Aggravated Vehicular Assault.


In 2013, Brian handled the first Federal campaign finance trial in the State of Ohio which resulted in his client’s acquittal on eighteen separate charges under Federal Election Law. Brian has also argued Appellate cases before the Ninth District Court of Appeals and the Ohio Supreme Court.
