Michael Huguley found not guilty of aggravated murder, guilty of other charges in stabbing death of the mother of his child; Akron man faces life in prison

A Summit County jury agreed with defense attorneys who argued Michael Huguley wasn’t guilty of the most serious charge he faced in the stabbing death of the mother of his child: aggravated murder.

The jury did, however, find the Akron man guilty Wednesday of the other charges against him: murder, felonious assault and domestic violence.

Huguley, 36, sat with his eyes downcast as he heard the verdicts, staring at the handcuffs that had just been placed on his wrists while Summit County Common Pleas Court Judge Mary Margaret Rowlands polled the jury of seven men and five women on their verdicts.
