Man without license for 16 years sentenced for fatal Akron crash
AKRON, Ohio — An Akron man who drove without a valid driver’s license for 16 years will spend the next four years in prison for causing a four-car crash that killed a 19-year-old woman.
Andre Graves, 37, will also never be allowed to have a driver’s license for the rest of his life. Summit County Common Pleas Judge Mary Margaret Rowlands handed down the sentence Tuesday in front of a packed courtroom of about 40 people. He faced up to eight years in prison.
Several family members of the victim, India Douglas, wept throughout the hearing. Some left the courtroom crying after Graves apologized.
