Girl faces life sentence after guilty plea in fatal home invasion
AKRON, Ohio — A 16-year-old girl faces life in prison after she pleaded guilty Tuesday to helping a group kill a man after gaining access to the home used for drugs and prostitution.
Alexis K. Martin, 16, of Canton, entered a plea Tuesday to murder and felonious assault charges. Summit County Judge Tom Parker scheduled Martin’s sentencing for March 24. Martin faces up to life in prison with parole eligibility in 26 years.
She will be transferred to adult prison after she turns 18.
Defense attorney Noah Munyer argued in previous court hearings that Martin was a victim of human trafficking.
