Cuyahoga Falls man sentenced to eight years in death of infant daughter
Akron — A 29-year-old Cuyahoga Falls man on Jan. 6 was sentenced to eight years in prison on an endangering children charge in connection with the death of his infant daughter.
Matthew A. Scott will also have to serve three years of mandatory post-release control as part of the penalty he received from Summit County Common Pleas Court Judge Mary Margaret Rowlands, who waived Scott’s fines and gave him credit for 209 days served in jail.
Eight years was the maximum sentence the judge could impose.
Noah Munyer, Scott’s attorney, called the sentence “a fair punishment … An eight-year sentence at the start of this case is something we would have gladly pled for. Here, 11 months later, I’m very satisfied.”
