Canton woman disputes she stabbed Akron man over eaten salsa, sent to prison anyway
A Canton woman whose boyfriend said she stabbed him because he ate all the salsa in an Akron home was sentenced Monday to a year and a half in prison.
Phyllis D. Jefferson, 50, told the judge that salsa wasn’t to blame.
She claims she stabbed her boyfriend after she learned he was a registered sex offender.
The 62-year-old man, who is required to register annually with his local sheriff’s office, spent 18 years in prison for a 1985 conviction of felonious assault and gross sexual imposition.
