Akron police officer sentenced for attacking, stalking ex-girlfriend
AKRON, Ohio — An Akron police officer will spend the next four years in prison for attacking and stalking his ex-girlfriend and her new boyfriend.
Akron Police Sgt. Eric Paull, 44, spent 19 years as a respected and honored Akron police officer and supervisor. He was on unpaid administrative leave from the time he was arrested until he officially retired on Aug. 17.
Summit County Common Pleas Judge Amy Corrigall Jones sentenced him Monday. The hearing came after Paull reached a plea deal with the special prosecutors from the Ohio Attorney General’s Office that ensures that he’ll never be allowed to work as a police officer.
